| About Us | I started getting into cars about 7 years ago with my 1995 Mazda Protege. Although laking in power and options for upgrading both performance and style I did what I could with it before finally Moving up to a 1994 Mazda MX-3 RS. I fell in love with the styling and feel of the car. The power was still lacking but since the engine was the same engine as the early 90's miatas I found a lot of options to play with this car. Eventually though I decided I wanted to do an engine swap to a more versitile engine and drivetrain. This is how I found myself with a 1993 Mazda MX-3 GS. It came with a 1.8L V6 Engine and front wheel drive transaxle. Soon after I located a Bp engine (1.8L inline 4 engine found in the Protege LX, and Escort GT) and the AWD transmission and rear subframe from a 1992 Mazda 323 GTR. I have spent the last several months locating all of the parts required for the Engine build / swap and the AWD swap. I have learned more than I thought possible concerning stripping and rebuilding a car and engine. I know this is a huge project but the end will certainly be worth all of the work. |
